Registered Quantity Surveyors

The Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland

The Building Control Act 2007 provides for the statutory protection of the title of ‘Quantity Surveyor’ by restricting the lawful use of the title to suitably qualified persons whose names are entered on a statutory register. The Society of Chartered Surveyors is the official registration body and competent authority for Quantity Surveyors in Ireland.

The main purpose of any registration system is to improve the quality of service to the consumer, by ensuring that those registered are assessed against a defined level of qualifications and competence, and to provide the consumer with means of dispute resolution in the case of problems of poor service for example. The public can now be assured that registered Quantity Surveyors are fully qualified and trained professionals.

All Directors and Employees of Harris Coyle Breen Chartered Quantity Surveyors are full members of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland.

If any person is offering to provide you with Quantity Surveying or related services who are not on the Societys Register, you should ask about relevant qualifications. The Society of Chartered Surveyors can also provide advice.
